After a month in Portugal, things are becoming routine, like making Saturday and Sunday breakfasts. This morning I made us bacon, cheddar cheese, and egg sandwiches. What makes it special was that the beautiful rolls were super fresh. This morning I just walked a few hundred feet to the little market in the train station and bought two just-baked rolls for less than 20 cents each. We enjoyed our delicious breakfast sandwiches with a bowl of cut nectarines we bought at the Farmers Market two days ago. I can’t tell you how nice it is to walk a couple of minutes to a bakery or farmer’s market instead of getting in the car and driving five miles to a supermarket.
