Hoi An, Vietnam

Just outside of the city of Hue is Hoi An,
a charming village with a picturesque
patchwork of cobblestone streets and al-
leys lined with historic buildings, filled
with quality souvenirs and lovely restau-
rants offering authentic Vietnamese cui-
sine and its chocolaty coffee. Many of the
restaurants offer cooking classes. Basi-
cally untouched during the Vietnam War,
the village is a 45-minute drive from Da
Nang and 2 hours from the port at Chan
May. While Hue and Da Nang are inter-
esting, Ho An is the shore excursion to
take at this port. The Last Great Food
