Our next stop wasn’t as dramatic but proved more
fun. Denis surprised us with a visit to the quaint little
village called Bushmills, population 1,500. He led us to
a charming inn, The Distillers Arms, the former home
of the Bushmills Distillery owners, and into its restau-
rant, Tartine, well regarded among locals and travel-
ers, many of whom were either on their way to or just
returning from the Giant’s Causeway only two miles
away. We all ordered delicious creamy seafood chow-
der, with crusty soda bread and Irish butter - perfect
for the rainy, blustery day outside.
