The Palm Garden features 90
species of the most decorative palm trees
native to arid and subtropical lands. “The
collection constitutes one of the broadest
representations of palms on public display
in California.”
The Jungle Garden features palms
and bamboos and orchids, gingers and
bromeliads. The Rose Garden has more
than 3,000 individual bushes with blooms
beginning in late March through November.
The Australian Garden features
about 100 species of eucalyptus. bottle
brushes, kangaroo paws and acacias, each
in bloom here during their seasons. You’ll
find a California Garden, Herb Garden and
Camellia Garden here, too.
But my favorite is the Desert Garden
which features one of the largest outdoor
collections of cacti and succulents in the
world. What makes it especially amazing is
