Street Food
A description of Bangkok necessarily
begins and ends with street food. How
many other cities can claim to have street
food that has received a Michelin Star?
The street food scene in Bangkok is un‐
paralleled and one of the best ways to en‐
gage with locals, try new items with bold
flavors and experience the city authenti‐
cally. Of the many ways to sample street
food, night markets are perhaps the easi‐
est and most impressive. Entering these
will put you on a sensory journey as you
take in the abundance of food, raw and
cooked, the vibrant colors of fresh fruits
and vegetables and the unique smells that
surround you. Easy to navigate night mar‐
kets that should be included on your itin‐
erary include Jodds Fair and Ratchada.
The streets of Chinatown also come to life
at night with an array of food from the
large Chinese population of Bangkok. If
you want to experience night markets as a
local, visit Huai Khwang Night Market
(near the Ganesha Shrine) or Talat Phlu
(near the sitting Buddha).
