We surveyed the docks and boats here from the
water with Captain Dan Platt who operates Noyo
Harbor Tours aboard his 18-foot Duffy electric
boat. We couldn’t have had a better guide. Captain
Dan has shared in its history as a commercial fish-
erman in these coastal waters for decades. He
owns two fishing boats docked along with the fish-
ing fleet. On the leisurely one-hour excursion one
morning we saw harbor seals, sea lions, birds, and
other wildlife. But it was his fascinating tales of
fishing and local lore that are worth the price of
admission. He also hosts later sailings that include
brilliant sunsets.
