It’s a tip he learned from his beloved
                                                                  teacher, a five-time finalist in the nation’s
                                                                  Super Bowl of bull riding, a skilled cowboy
                                                                  with more than $1 million in rodeo earnings.
                                                                  That teacher also happens to be his father.
                                                                      Kasen’s dad, now 38, hung up his spurs
                                                                  seven years ago. Back when he was even
                                                                  younger than son, he fancied bull riding
                                                                  because he liked Ferdinand the Bull chil-
                                                                  dren’s stories.  He borrowed the $5 entry
                                                                  fee the first time he climbed aboard a
                                                                  steer at the Cody Nite Rodeo. Like his boy,
                                                                  he stayed on the full 8 seconds.
                                                                      When opening night lights dimmed at
                                                                  the Cody rodeo arena, the former bull rider
                                                                  and the newbie headed home to the nearby
                                                                  spread where dad now raises bucking
                                                                  rodeo bulls. There wasn’t much need for
                                                                  conversation on that ride back to the
                                                                  ranch; these two cowboys pretty much
                                                                  knew what the other was thinking – and
                                                                  feeling.
