That’s how they say “hello” at the Calgary
Stampede in Alberta, Canada. I went to part of
this 10-day annual rodeo not because I have a
secret wish to be a cowgirl, but because this
festival is considered the greatest outdoor
show on earth. The problem was, except for
me, all the other visitors were dressed appro-
priately in white cowboy hat and boots, the
proper dress code at the Stampede.
