24 MEXICAN RIVIERA CRUISE
We didn’t have high expectations for our recent
Mexican Riviera New Year’s voyage on Holland
America’s Koningsdam. We just needed a post-
holiday cruise fix and this seven-day adventure
conveniently sailed round-trip out of our home-
town port of San Diego.
71 THE MILLY SAILS AGAIN
“You can be our guinea pigs!” veteran cruise
friends exclaimed to us when we told them that
we recently had booked an eight-night cruise
on the Celebrity Millennium. The cruise would
take us from our San Diego hometown up the
coast to San Francisco
76 A WHALE OF AN ADVENTURE
“Now let’s head for the snow!” exclaimed our
guide, Mike Essary, of Baja Custom Tours as we
drove away from Guerrero Negro and the
“friendlies,” baleen whales of Scammon’s Lagoon,
to continue on the second leg of our trip.
