a bite at a fancy restaurant with an ocean
view, enjoy a casual meal at the food
court, or munch snacks at the cinema.
There’s even a bowling alley and a disco.
We passed on them hoping to grab a table
at Tanta, a popular restaurant founded by
acclaimed chefs Gastón Acurio and Astrid
Gutsche.
Gastón Acurio is a superstar in the Pe‐
ruvian food scene and a promoter of Peru‐
vian cuisine worldwide. A Lima native who
abandoned law to pursue a career in cook‐
ing, he attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris
and then worked in several restaurants in
France and Spain. His first restaurant,
Astrid & Gastón, in Lima, swiftly gained
recognition as one of the best restaurants
