We hoped our destination restaurant, Atira-te ao
Rio, would be as interesting as our long wharf
walk.. It was. Without reservations, we waited
while sipping much needed cold beers in the blaz-
ing sun along with a couple of dozen other folks
without reservations. Finally seated, we ordered
the house special, Arroz de Tamboril, or Por-
tuguese Monkfish Rice, which was incredibly deli-
cious, and washed it down with an icy cold rose.
Full and happy, we didn’t want to walk the mile
plus back to the ferry. Our server suggested we
take a water taxi back for $7 each. Within minutes,
we hopped aboard and sped back across the river.
