114 RETURN TO THE SEA OF CORTEZ
The finest sunrises I've ever seen painted the
horizon over the Sea of Cortez. Many of my
favorite ocean adventures took place in the
sea's depths. I've visited this fertile body of
water many times over the past three
decades and have barely touched its many
wonders. I always leave wanting more.
122 I broke my Covid travel fast with a 10-day trip to
CUBA A PORTRAIT
Cuba in April. It was the first time I’d traveled
since early 2020 – and it was gloriously delicious. I
joined a small-group photo tour offered by

London-based writer and photographer Amy Laughinghouse has attempted to
overcome her fears (and sometimes basic common sense) through her adven-
tures in 30 countries around the world. She dishes on the perks and perils of

Jody Jaffe & John MuncieMuncie
Jody and John are award-winning journalists and novelists. John is a Lowell
Thomas Award-Winner and was feature editor of The San Diego Union-Tri-
bune, arts editor of The Baltimore Sun and writer-editor-columnist for the
travel department of The Los Angeles Times. Jody was a journalist at the
Charlotte Observer, where she was on a team that won the Pulitzer Prize. Her
articles have been published in many publications including The New York
Times and The Los Angeles Times. They live on a farm in Lexington, Va.
