                                                                 One of our most memorable dining experiences
                                                               was with our traveling companions Ira and Bar-
                                                               bara Gruber as we celebrated Ira’s birthday. For
                                                               this special occasion, we reserved a table on a
                                                               busy Saturday night at a charming former posada
                                                               renown for roast lamb.
                                                                 Stepping into Posada de la Ville is like stepping
                                                               back in time—way back - to 1642. Then it was
                                                               Spain’s first Inn of the Court, lodging and feeding
                                                               travelers from faraway lands, including mer-
                                                                                              chants, pilgrims,
                                                                                              artisans, and
                                                                                              tradespeople.
                                                                                              Today, it’s a rus-
                                                                                              tic setting for a
                                                                                              world-class din-
                                                                                              ing experience
                                                                                              with friendly
                                                                                              service and deli-
                                                                                              cious food and
                                                                                              wine.
                                                                 Of course, we sampled the succulent, tender
                                                               lamb, but also savored their delicious garlic
                                                               shrimp, croquetas, and grilled mushrooms. The
                                                               house red - a blend of six grapes - was a perfect
                                                               pairing. It was after 11:30 when we strolled out
                                                               of the Posada and merged into the crowds still
                                                               filling the street. Another magical night in this
                                                               magical city.
