            He was funny and unpretentious as he chal-
            lenged some cliched thinking about what pairs
            with what and why. The result of our food
            matching with several white and red wines from
            around the world, was eye opening. Though
            we’ve done tastings like this one before, it still
            amazed us how wines and food can enhance
            each other.
              Our week on Koningsdam sped by as we
            made three ports of call in Mexico before sail-
            ing home. We only got off the ship once, con-
            tent with our onboard itinerary of dining,
            relaxing and entertainment. Happily, our “Culi-
            nary Cruise” on Holland America Line’s Kon-
            ingsdam more than lived up to its name. From
            the first bite and sip to the last, the consistency
            and quality of the ship’s offerings excited and
            pleased our palates. It was a food lover’s dream
            cruise–destination dining at its best.
