The drive there, about an hour north of Santa
Fe, is spectacular, with wonderful views of the
Jemez Mountains, the Rio Grande River, and
stunning red-rock formations along highway 84.
It’s a little tricky finding the turnoff onto the
dirt road to the Ghost Ranch Education and Re-
treat Center. (Google Maps and Siri were most
helpful.) Dust billowed behind us as we made
our way a few miles along the rutted road until
what looked like a ranch house with a corral and
some outbuildings came into view. Was this
Ghost Ranch?
