P. 39
From the hilltops, the vistas were
breathtaking despite the rain-blurred hori‐
zon. In the distance, white-washed cottages
dotted the patchwork of green fields, while
the coastline stretched far off, framed by
the dramatic peaks of the Trotternish
Ridge. The view felt expansive, timeless,
and quintessentially Scottish, especially as
the drizzle and cold seeped into our
clothes.
When we finally returned to the van, wet
but smiling, there was a sense of accom‐
plishment—exploring the Fairy Glen, with its
treacherous footing and natural beauty,
had been a challenging adventure.
