The cistern experience today is enhanced
with rotating exhibits of modern sculptures
placed in strategic viewing spots. Colored
lights slowly rotate, illuminating the pillars
and mirror-like water, giving the space an
eerie, magical quality. Add unique acoustics
and it becomes a perfect venue for concerts
and other cultural events, including perfor-
mances by the Turkish Philharmonic Orches-
tra. The cistern also has starred in several
movies including "From Russia with Love" and
"The Da Vinci Code."
