emerging artists.
After visiting the museum, stroll along the
promenade on the Nervion River for city views
and as a great place to relax and enjoy the
serenity. To get above it all, take the Funicu-
lar from the city center to the top of Mount
Artxanda. Enjoy expansive city views, a meal
at one of the restaurants, hiking in the sur-
rounding hills, and visit Begoña Basilica.
For traditional Spanish art, the Bilbao Fine
Arts Museum is home to one of Spain's most
significant collections. It includes works by
Basque artists and Spanish and international
artists such as El Greco, Francisco Goya, and
Vincent van Gogh.
Bilbao has several fine restaurants for din-
ing beyond the pintxos spots in Old Town and
elsewhere.
• Nerua Guggenheim Bilbao, inside the
Guggenheim Museum, is a Michelin-
starred restaurant focusing on seasonal
and locally sourced ingredients. Its chefs
are known for creating innovative and
artistic dishes that reflect the Basque
culinary tradition.
• Mina Restaurant, in the city center,
features contemporary Basque cuisine. Its
tasting menu showcases the finest ingre-
dients and flavors of the region, matched
with wines from its excellent cellar.
• Azurmendi – This Michelin-starred
restaurant offers an exceptional modern
Basque tasting menu using seasonal in-
gredients.
• La Viña del Ensanche – A tasty mod-
ern take on pintxos with an extensive
wine list.
