I wandered about, craft beer in hand, ogling before their wedding. Their parents came along, then
spiraled chips on a stick and pistachio cannoli and siblings and friends, and we ate and chatted, mingling
sampling caramelized nuts and honey puffs. Thor- families from Brisbane and Southern California (the
oughly impressed and overwhelmed, I found a quiet bride and groom respectively). We met up again for a
table in a shipping container beside the river and nib- bridal shower, the wedding and our last-night picnic
bled on sautéed octopus and veggies. The bride and on Kangaroo Point and I felt more at more at home
groom appeared, seeming perfectly calm just a week each time.
