                         ur recent seven-day Mexican
                         Riviera cruise on Holland Amer-
                         ica Line’s Koningsdam was un-
                         like any of the 35 others we’ve
           O enjoyed over the years. For the
            first time, the itinerary wasn’t the draw. Our
            destination was the ship itself for a week-
            long dining adventure with a toe-tapping
            soundtrack of live music. Our ship-board “ex-
            cursions” took us to specialty dining, wine
            tasting, a lively cooking demonstration and a
            chef-helmed celebratory dinner.
              We recently became reacquainted with
            Holland America’s superb culinary and en-
            tertainment offerings, so we jumped at the
            chance to join a special “Culinary Cruise”
            on Koningsdam, sailing round trip out of
            our hometown, San Diego.
