or over two decades Geronimo has reigned as
one of the few top fine dining draws in Santa
FFe. Its consistently high standards of food and
service have solidified a reputation as the place to
go on special occasions for locals and visitors.
Tourists perennially rank it among the nation’s top
fine dining restaurants on TripAdvisor, making it a
must stop for foodies in Santa Fe.
Geronimo is not named after the famous Indian
Chief, but after Señor Geronimo Lopez, the former
owner of the 265-year-old landmark adobe hacienda
on Canyon Road that houses the restaurant.
Since its opening, food critics and diners raved
about chef/owner Eric DiStefano’s creative signa-
ture dishes. After DiStefano’s death in 2016, Chef
Sllin Cruz took the reigns as executive chef. He has
continued to refine and honor DiStefano’s signature
dishes, leaving the front of the house in the hands of
owner Chris Harvey who nightly greets guests and
pitches in where needed.
