Flamenco Show
We closed the day with an early evening
flamenco show. These performances were all
but halted by the pandemic and many compa-
nies are just getting back to business and a
struggling to survive. The performers - three
dancers, two singers and a guitarist, part of
Las Carboneras Flamenco Show - gave it
their all, stomping, clapping, and shouting
encouragement to each other as they pre-
sented this uniquely Spanish folkloric art
form. It wasn’t the flashiest show for cos-
tumes and lighting, but the footwork, which
takes years to master, was thrilling to watch.
And we learned in a brief presentation after-
ward, that the performance is improvised -
and different every night.
